InSphero with new product, new employee in the US and new nomination

InSphero moves forward: The biotech company from Zurich has been selected as nominee for the European Life Science Awards 20012, launched a new product and hired a new employee for the US office.

InSphero, in collaboration with Sirion Biotech, developed revolutionary new micro tissues combining both stromal as well as epithelial cells combined with the ability to quickly quantify drug efficacy and toxicity with fluorescent protein techniques. This enables experiments without the need for additional costly reagents, facilitating both drug discovery and development.

InSphero already generates 40% of its turnover by US sales – to be more agile on site and closer to the customer, InSphero reinforces its US sales team by hiring Davina Heller, an expert in cell based assays with experience working with the top players in the field.

A few days ago Insphero had already announced that the company, together with Horizon Discovery and Sony DADC Biosciences, has been selected as one of the three ‘Best New Companies’ at the European Life Science Awards 2012. The awards of Select Biosciences aim to publically recognize the efforts and contributions of organizations and individuals who have demonstrated an unparalleled ability of excellence in the life science industry.
