Sobees launches first social reader app for Windows 8

Windows 8 is still in release preview. But Sobees already had finalised its Newsmix app for the new operating system. Newsmix for Windows 8 will run on PCs, notebooks and also on the new Microsoft tablet called Surface.

NewsMix, the interactive newsstand app, is now available as a free download in the new Windows store. It has been optimized for the new Metro design by Microsoft and will run on Surface tablets as well as ultrabooks, notebooks and PCs powered by the new operating system Windows 8 which is currently in release preview. NewsMix is run by the Swiss start-up Sobees.

“Microsoft’s new Metro design with its sleek tile interface makes a personal newsstand look amazing. NewsMix is the most effortless and vibrant way to stay up-to-date because for us, relevant news start with a relevant source, whether it’s an expert, a journalist, a celebrity, or a passionate consumer” said NewsMix CEO Francois Bochatay.

With NewsMix it’s no longer necessary to search the most popular social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest) for relevant information. With Newsmix experts compile news, imgaes and videos. Today there are more than 2000 news mixes on several topics available.
