Take a startup deep dive an join us for lunch! The Venture Briefing event series is designed to help students with an intent to pursue entrepreneurship take their first steps towards building a successful company.

The event features keynotes from entrepreneurs Silvan Bauser of Struckd and MyBikePlan, and Livia Zumofen of hooq.

About: Silvan is a serial entrepreneur and alumnus of ZHdK where he studied game design. He now serves as the CTO of MyBikePlan, a high-performing e-commerce platform to make e-bikes available for everyone. Previously, he was the co-founder and CEO of Struckd AG, a global game creation platform with more than 1 million games published, accelerated by Swiss Startup Factory and finally sold to a major US tech company. Even before that, Silvan had been the founder of VAN ARBA, a creative agency serving global brands like Swarovski, Tissot and more. In his freetime, Silvan is an avid surfer and passionate e-guitarist.

Livia studied engineering and chemistry at ZHAW, and also worked as a research assistant at the ZPP Center for Product and Process Development. In 2023 she turned her passion for climbing sports into a startup, and co-founded hooq - creating the perfectly fitting climbing shoes, customized to the unique anatomy of all athletes. The startup got a great start and won Venture Kick first stage, with additional support by ZHdK, ZHAW, ETH, OST, Innosuisse, Sensory-Motor Systems Lab, runway, and Home of Innovation. When Livia is not working days and nights climbing the clifs of entrepreneurship challenges, you will of course find her at some rocky wall in the Swiss mountains.

At our event, Silvan and Livia will talk about their startups and share details about their journey building successful companies. They will also help answer some of your questions during the Q&A session:
  • How to become an entrepreneur?
  • How to validate my idea?
  • How to fund my idea?
  • How to find help to bring my idea to life?

You will also be introduced to different support programs available to new entrepreneurs:
  • Venture Kick: up to CHF 150,000 pre-seed capital for business development
  • InnoBooster: up to CHF 150,000 grant to accelerate market entry
  • First Ventures: up to CHF 150,000 financial support and tailored coaching program for University of Applied Science students
