A new kind of ski boot on the way to the market

DAHU came up with a true innovation in the alpine ski boot world: DAHU's patented ski boots have one comfortable part, the shoe (convenient for hiking, walking, driving etc.), and a lightweight exoskeleton which can be easily removed and carried. DAHU’s boots are 30% lighter than regular boots.
 
In October 2012, a prototype of the boots was tested by Roch Schenk, a tester for high-tech ski-producer MOVEMENT. The feedback was encouraging: not only were the ski boots significantly more comfortable than regular ones, they also showed an impressive performance on ski. Roch Schenk commented: “DAHU ski boots require less force to handle. Although you will not see the boots in the professional racing circus, they absolutely meet all needs of advanced skiers”. A senior product manager of INTERSPORT group was also present at the test, which was soon followed by the signing of a first letter of intent for an international distribution partnership. INTERSPORT is one of the leading international sporting goods chains with over 5’400 retailers in 42 countries.
 
Last week, the innovation aroused overwhelming interest of sports industry professionals at ISPO Munich, the world’s biggest trade show for the sports business. DAHU now expects additional partnerships and pre-orders for the official launch of its next-generation ski boot planned for autumn 2013. DAHU has already found production partners in Italy. The production start is planned for summer 2013.
 
DAHU was founded in 2011 and is based in Fribourg. In cooperation with Claudio Franco, one of the top global ski boot designers with a striking track record, and several other industry experts DAHU founder Nicolas Frey has developed the next-generation ski boot.
