Deeptech startup Advertima empowers grocers and retailers to create smart spaces that offer consumer-centric, frictionless and relevant in-store shopping experiences. The startup has raised €15 million in a series A round by led by the Fortimo Group. The funds will, among others, flow into developing the platform on a global scale.

Advertima, is an emerging computer vision platform provider with the mission to define how the world will look in 2030 with the Advertima Human Data Layer, which visually interprets human behaviour in physical spaces. The technology powers smart ecosystems and their applications by merging the physical and digital world through 3D computer vision technology and machine learning. The startup believes that the future will be multi-layered, where the boundaries of technology and the natural world are seamless.

Since its inception in 2016, Advertima has seen accelerated growth with its two products. Its product “Smart Signage” has launched across several countries in Europe, just as the second product “Autonomous Store”. Advertima’s smart retail portfolio was developed with Migros, Switzerland’s largest retailer, the international grocer SPAR. The company has already won 14 companies across eight different countries to apply the technology.

Building on this success, the startup has secured fresh capital of € 15 million to strengthen its position in the computer vision market. Existing shareholder Fortimo, a Swiss real estate company led the round.

“The Series A investment validates more than four years of hard work by our global team to make Advertima the computer vision platform provider of the future by developing the new standard of real-time 3D human data from the physical world," says Advertima Co-Founder and CEO Iman Nahvi.

“We’ll be investing €25 million in the further development of our smart retail solutions over the next two years. €10 million of this investment will be financed by our own revenues so this €15 million round is a crucial milestone to help us achieve our vision for how the world will look by 2030. We see a world where the physical and digital layers are merged to enhance our daily professional and private lives. Advertima’s Human Data Layer will be one of the irreplaceable components in this whole ecosystem of applications and technologies that will build the foundation of our future lives,” adds Iman
