With CHF50 million invested per year across Europe, investiere is one of the major players in the VC sector on the continent. After ten years of existence the platform has today presented an impressive record and announced a rebranding.

As of today, investiere changes its name to Verve Ventures. Verve Ventures has become one of the most active venture capital firms in Europe. The name change reflects the ambition to become a truly pan-European actor, that facilitates cross-border investments and helps the most promising European start-ups succeed by giving them access to a continent-wide network of investors.

The rebranding follows an outstanding year for the platform. With CHF 45 million invested in 2020, the total invested amount increased by 45% from 2019. Private investors contributed CHF 31.5 million, while the rest came from institutional investors such as pension funds, family offices and companies. More than 500 private investors made at least one investment in 2020. For more than 200, it was their first investment through the platform. Alongside numerous follow-on financing rounds, 22 new start-ups were added to the portfolio which brought the total number to more than 100, of which more than 20 are outside of Switzerland.

Verve Ventures’ history started in 2010. Today, the community consists of close to 5’000 qualified private investors, family offices and pension funds. Furthermore, numerous corporations rely on Verve Ventures’ expertise to screen, select and invest in promising start-ups. Since its inception in 2010, Verve has invested over EUR 130 million in over 100 start-ups. Switzerland’s third-largest bank, Zürcher Kantonalbank, is an anchor investor of Verve Ventures.
