Matthias Aebi is one of the Swiss web pioneers. Now his company futureLAB is supporting start-ups with IT development resources and with money. The “Shuttle-Booster” is already backing several projects but is still seeking entrepreneurs with promising ideas.

Nearly 20 years ago Matthias Aebi founded the first independent Internet Service Provider in Switzerland. He sold the company to Diax (today Sunrise) in 1998. Two years later he started “futureLAB”, a software development company. Today futureLAB develops, implements and runs innovative, creative, and often surprising customer solutions for international companies. It operates in various fields and industries such as Internet service providers, media companies and public authorities.

A few months ago futureLAB started a service called Shuttle-Booster. It is an incubator which in addition to the classic areas supports young companies in the IT field. Shuttle Booster addresses the problem that most businesses require a large and central portion of information technology and telecommunication (Internet, mobile) and that professional software engineers, project managers and IT architects are hard to find for start-ups which can’t afford high wages.

Apart from the IT support futureLAB participates as investor in each start-up. Additional support is possible in fields like foundation, structure and organization, administration or Human Resources.
