Co-founders from diverse industries have joined forces to host the first top-developers event, “App Builders Conference” to connect the Swiss industry with both domestic and foreign top developers. The event will take place on the 25th and 26th April 2016. Two hundred participants from Switzerland and Europe have already registered including personalities from Skype and Spotify. Registration is still open.

The Swiss developer community, App Builders Switzerland, has united developers and software companies from all over Europe in Zurich, Ticino and Lausanne to promote digitalisation and disruption within the current developer community. Industry leaders such as Kevin Goldsmith, Vice President of Spotify Engineering, Vitaly Friedman, Co-founder and Editor In Chief of Smashing Magazine and Julien Decot, Chief Revenue Officer at TextMe & former Director Business Development at Skype will participate in the conference.

The four co-founders of App Builders Switzerland - Junior Bontognali and Patrick Balestra, both from Tessin, as well as Dylan Marriott and John Riordan, both natives of Zurich, have outlined the following objectives for this conference:

  • To connect Swiss industry with the domestic and foreign top developer’s community;

  • To extend the App Builders community within Switzerland to exploit the full potential of the domestic market;

  • To make App Builders available to developers in and outside of Switerland and Swiss companies as an exclusive job platform.

  • To put key indicators for disruptive product development in place at the conference; including diversity, management culture and best practices.

The App Builder Switzerland Conference will not be the only highlight this year: Under the title of App Builders Meetup, the initiators plan to work throughout the year in Zurich and Lausanne with the community.

Kevin Goldsmith, one of the key note speakers, is also convinced by the format's potential: Vice President of engineering of Swedish Music Streaming Service, Spotify. “Europe’s developer community has a big opportunity to create products made by Europeans for Europeans. And Switzerland has a lot to offer from which the European ecosystem can benefit."
