The seventh edition of the seif Awards for Social Entrepreneurship has been launched. Social entrepreneurs from all over Europe are called up to submit their applications. A total of CHF 50'000 in cash prize is available to be divided among the five winners. A new digital healthcare award was added to the traditional four categories.
The seif Awards for Social Entrepreneurship rewards ventures, applying innovative business ideas to current social and/or environmental problems. In its 7th edition, the seif Awards 2017 aims to follow on its tradition to celebrate and promote innovation drivers for change at national and international level. Social enterprises from all over Europe and in all sectors are invited to apply for the competition.
New Digital Healthcare Award
Last year Carbon Delta, MoSan, Stuward and Green City Solutions from Germany were the winners that received cash prizes of CHF 10’000 each. This year, a total of CHF 50’000 in cash prize is available. A new category was added: the The Award for Digital Healthcare which will be rewarded by Johnson & Johnson and which grants innovative digital business ideas facing current healthcare/healthtech issues.
The other four categories will be the same as last year. Startups have the opportunity to win the seif Award, the UBS Award for Entrepreneurial Innovation, the SUVA Award for Integration and Prevention, and the PwC Award for Future Trends.
After the application phase the jury will select 10 finalists based on the following criteria;
- Professional skills of the project team
- Innovation of the project
- Social / ecological impact
- Quality of the business model and financing
- Replicability and scale
