Aeon Scientific announced the successful closing of a financing round a few weeks ago. The company received CHF4.3 million.

Aeon Scientific has closed its third financing round worth 4.3 million CHF. Existing investors participated in the round. With the new funds the company is planning to complete the development of the Aeon Phocus until CE marking and achieve the first clinical installation.

The start-up from Zurich has already installed a near-production prototype of its catheter steering system in its own lab and put it in into operation successfully.

The Aeon Phocus is a catheter steering system for treating cardiac arrhythmias. Using a patented technology for electromagnetic steering, the Aeon Phocus provides ultimate dexterity and reachability within all four heart chambers. Physicians can operate the Aeon Phocus from a separate control room and are thus protected from x-ray radiation.

Aeon was founded in 2010. In 2013 the ETH spin-off company previously based at the campus relocated to its own premises in Schlieren. Here the start-up found the ideal laboratory space, which allows exhibiting the products in a showroom similar to an EP laboratory.
