The 11th CEO Day will take place on October 22nd at Stade de Suisse in Bern. It will be a combination of tried and tested elements with new ones. All innovative Start-ups of Switzerland are invited to join the event and should apply now. 200 early bird tickets are available.

After last year’s 10th anniversary, CEO Day 2014 will mark the beginning of the next decade with a slightly revised concept. All innovative Start-ups of Switzerland can take part, e.g. high-tech, services and social impact projects. As previously announced, a moderate cost contribution charge will be introduced for participants amounting to CHF 59.- for early registration of start-ups and up to CHF 149.- for guests.

Following the welcome address by Chairman Dr. Christian Wenger and the warm-up speech by Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier, there will be Investors on Stage, where Venture Capitalists and Business Angels will take the stage to present themselves, their market views, their added value, and what kind of investments they are looking for.

This will be followed by a Pitching Battle where approx. 26 Start-ups from the fields ICT & Cleantech and Biotech, Medtech and Micro-Nano will engage in a maximum 3-minute pitch against each other. The 6 most promising projects will be nominated for the Start-Up Battle 2015 in Zürich and qualify for the finals on CEO Day later on.

Simultaneous to the pitching battle six Best Practice Workshops will be held:

  • Exit with Dr. Beat Speck, Wenger & Vieli;
  • Due Diligence with Dr. Patrick Griss, Zühlke Ventures;
  • Business Modeling for Start-ups with Jasper Bouwsma, Vujàdé;
  • Winning in Sales with Beat Walther & Alice Sachova, Vendbridge
  • Termsheet for Beginners with Jacques Bonvin, TavernierTschanz
  • Incentive Plans for Beginners with Remo Schmid, pwc, Karim Maizar, Kellerhals

Keynotes by Johannes Reck and Jan Lichtenberg
After the lunch-break two Keynotes of Start-up CEO’s will be held for the first time, welcoming Johannes Reck (GetYourGuide) and Jan Lichtenberg (insphero).

The 1to1 meetings in the afternoon offer the opportunity to meet with predetermined potential industrial partners, investors, support organisations or Start-up companies. In 2013, 680 meetings were held within 2 hours at 75 tables.

In parallel to the 1to1 meetings, participants may visit the partners, sponsors and also Start-up booths in the foyer of the Stade de Suisse for networking.

The day will come to an end with the Pitching Final and rounded off with an Apéro riche with Jazz music.

As usual the Swiss Venture Guide 2014 will appear on CEO Day. It will also be available online: www.cti-invest.ch/Swiss-Venture-Guide
