With mycujoo’s tools football clubs have entirely new opportunities to stream matches and engage fans as well as sponsors. The start-up already has partnerships in place with leagues in 7 countries. Now the company has closed a financing round.

Mycujoo just closed a financing round over CHF 1.2 million and obtained funds from football industry executives, a hybris co-founder (sold to SAP for over $1 billion), an institutional investors and private investors from the investiere network. Investiere investors contributed CHF 115’000 to this round.

Mycujoo is addressing the problem that over 80% of the football market currently lacks proper mechanisms to produce broadcasts of their matches and monetise them effectively. Thanks to mycujoo’s unique B2C and B2B tools, football clubs have entirely new opportunities to stream matches, engage fans as well as sponsors and generate revenues.

The intersection between sports and technology is receiving more and more attention from the sports establishment and media rights holders. Emerging technologies such as mycujoo are opening new sponsorship opportunities and channels for clubs to interact with fans. Furthermore digital broadcasting is set to open new revenue opportunities for smaller clubs and sporting events that are currently not being considered by traditional broadcasters.

Mycujoo already has partnerships in place with leagues in 7 countries as well as sponsorship deals and has been recognized by UEFA and other regional organizations as a powerful tool to empower small clubs to generate revenues.

For the 2016/17 season all the games of the 3rd and 4th Swiss football division will be streamed via mycujoo. The former Goldbach Media CEO Klaus Kappeler has also joined mycujoo and is in charge of further developing a value proposition for advertisers and sponsors.
