Building upon the success of previous editions, Bioinnovation Day 2013 will provide an opportunity for researchers, scientist-entrepreneurs and start-up ventures to pitch their projects to an audience of peers, venture capitalists, investors and licensing / partnering professionals from industry.

The 2013 edition of the BioInnovation Day will introduce three new elements to the meeting. Firstly, successful new start-up businesses tracing their origins back to previous BioInnovation Day pitches will present their experiences in transforming innovative research ideas into viable and functional companies. Secondly, a series of invited speakers will cover important issues for entrepreneurs ranging from partnering and funding opportunities to the business side of launching a life-science start-up company. And finally, there is the BioInnovation Prize sponsored by Eclosion, a new cash prize of CHF 10,000 for the most innovative project. This prize, generously donated by Eclosion SA, will be open to all projects pitched during the meeting.

The programme for BioInnovation Day 2013 will consist of three sessions of project pitches featuring projects selected from both academic research and from start-up companies.  In addition, presentations from recently-established start-up companies who can trace their origins to previous BioInnovation day pitches will be featured.

BioInnovation Day welcomes registration for projects from academic researchers, scientist-entrepreneurs and start-up companies.  Projects must be submitted by 12 April 2013 and will be selected by the BioInnovation Day committee. Those selected will be asked to present his or her project in a 5 minute “elevator pitch”.

The BioInnovation Day will take place in Geneva on 15 May 2013. More information on the website of the event.
