Dotphoton, a fast-growing Swiss image processing startup is launching JetRaw, new B2B product for biotech research. The comes after the company raised seven-digits in a Pre-Series A round from Swiss private investors.

University of Geneva spinoff, Dotphoton is a Swiss deeptech startup specialised on quantum-based software solutions for raw image compression for critical applications. Dotphoton uses insights from quantum information field to provide high compression ratios whilst still preserving original quality and image fidelity. Dotphoton’s Products are already being used by market leaders in biomedical and space industries.

The 2020 pandemic underlined the need in remote access to the large volumes of high-quality image data. Hence, increasing requests from biotech industrial and research laboratories showed definite market need in JetRaw, Dotphoton’s lossless raw image compression solution for biotech imagery.

JetRaw enables researches to compress raw image data up to 10 times without compromising image data quality and reduce time and budgets spent on Big Image Data handling. PCO Imaging, a world-leading scientific camera manufacturer, collaborated with Dotphoton to commercialise Jetraw as an integrated feature in its current software.

"We are very pleased to collaborate with Dotphoton on the camera-specific compression of image data. Thanks to the high resolution, high dynamic and high frame rates of our scientific cameras, the generated image data create huge stacks of images, which are worldwide discussed as the“big data issue”, said Gerhard Holst, Head of Science and Research, PCO.

The software has also been validated by leading biotech research centres and is available for purchase directly from Dotphoton or through resellers starting September 10, 2020.

Dotphpoton secures a seven-digit investment
New and existing investors have contributed to Dotphoton’s pre-series A round in which the company raised a seven-digit amount. The funds will enable the startup to create a dedicated product team to reinforce Jetraw product development and commercialisation process.

“We are grateful to our new and existing investors for sharing Dotphoton’s vision and for helping us to build a secure and strong company. The newly raised funds will help to scale Dotphoton’s image compression solutions and meet rising demand from the new customers”, Eugenia Balysheva, CEO, Dotphoton.
