Alp ICT, Switzerland Global Enterprise and CTI Startup are joining forces to get the most out of Swiss participation at the Mobile World Congress 2014. For the first time, a Swiss hospitality pavilion, in collaboration with Swiss Business Hub Spain, will be in place at the congress in Barcelona next year. Start-ups are encouraged to apply – funding is available.

Mobile World Congress, with about 70,000 visitors, is one of the most important events worldwide in the field of mobile hardware and mobile applications. At next year’s meeting (24-27 February), our goal is to offer Swiss SMEs, start-ups and research institutions an unbeatable and highly visible platform to present Swiss innovation in mobile development. Our professional organisation will include preparation activities, media coverage and after-the-fact processing. Swiss Business Hub Spain will be in charge of the pavilion at a local level and will give us general support.

The SWISS pavilion will serve as an open meeting point for Swiss companies and offer them a marketing platform for their products and solutions. Given the global scope of this event, Swiss companies active in mobile technology will benefit from greater visibility. A higher profile will also allow Swiss companies to establish new methods of collaboration with similar companies from around the world, a key factor to remaining competitive in such a dynamic industry.

What the event includes:

  • a world-class exhibition with most of the big industry names represented
  • a highly attractive conference programme
  • various award competitions for participants

What we offer:

  • Meeting support: Swiss Business Hub Spain, in collaboration with ICT industry experts and Spanish institutions, will organise B2B agendas (three to six meetings per company) for participating Swiss companies. These ‘matchmaking’ events will take place throughout the congress in the SWISS Pavilion.
  • High-profile networking event: Participating companies will benefit from an ICT Business Seminar and Networking Cocktail, which will give an insider view of the ICT industry in Spain and Latin America, with a special focus on mobile technologies, from mobile solutions to m-commerce and beyond. Industry experts in Spain will share their views and expertise with seminar participants.
  • Additional special events: Other official networking events with media and governmental representatives will be organized.

Attractive conditions for SMEs, start-ups and R&D institutes
Start-ups will receive significant funding for expenses from CTI Startup, and companies and research institutions from western Switzerland will also receive financial support from Alp ICT. The final deadline for applications is 31 August, and a kick-off meeting will take place in September in Bern or Zurich. As space is limited, about 15 participants only will be supported. Please make sure you present your motivation and the expected benefits from the conference clearly on the application form, so we can make an informed selection. To apply, download the application form.
