Selecta has extended its partnership with Swiss food tech company, Carogusto, to provide its hot steam food solutions to all 16 European countries in which Selecta operates. Carogusto has developed the fastest steamer in the world.
Selecta’s innovative hot food solution offers quality, hot-steamed meals which are ready to serve in just 30-45 seconds at the push of a button. Thanks to Carogusto’s unique “SiSiSi Qeamer” concept and QR Scan technology, the machine automatically recognizes each individual menu and adjusts the heating accordingly. Selecta will offer the hot-steamed meals through its Foodies brand. Foodies is an unattended self service, self checkout convenience store for the workplace.

The people behind Carogusto AG, founded in 2017, are experienced. The idea for the steamer came from Geneva restaurateur Beat Schmid, and it was developed by the company Eugster/Frismag based in Thurgau, which is primarily known as a manufacturer of Nespresso coffee machines. Founder Arthur Eugster is chairman of the board of directors of Carogusto. According to an article in the business magazine Bilan, Schmid, Eugster and the German food entrepreneur Herbert Mederer have invested 20 million Swiss francs in the start-up.
