In May Aon has launched a new digital wellbeing app which utilizes dacadoo’s digital health score platform. In total, dacadoo is working with 30 Life & Health insurance operators globally including the largest insurance company in the world. The Zurich-based company with offices around the world counts now more than 80 employees and reports a revenue growth of more than 100% per year.

Dacadoo develops and operates its comprehensive digital Health Engagement Platform to motivate users to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyle habits. It combines motivational techniques derived from behavioral science, with functions from online gaming and social networks that involve users in their holistic health – Body, Mind and Lifestyle. By combining the patented dacadoo Health Score with personalized health coaching via the rule- and AI-based automated coach (Lifestyle Navigator), dacadoo customers can achieve high levels of long-term user engagement. Data on the active users of a population of 67’000 shows that 29.4% lost weight, 11.1% reduced blood pressure, 9.8% reduced resting heart rate and 41.8% reduced the risk of diabetes. At the same time, the overall activity level increased by +10%.

Dacadoo is focused on a B2B2C approach. Available in over 13 languages, dacadoo’s technology is provided as a fully branded, white-label solution or it can be integrated into customer products through its API. dacadoo is also licensing it’s Risk Engine for real-time scoring of mortality and morbidity. “The company is now working with 30 Life and Health insurance operators globally. They either use our dacadoo Health Score Platform, our Risk Engine or dacadoo GO”, says dacadoo CEO Peter Ohnemus. Customers include United Healthcare Group, the largest insurance company in the world with USD 225 billion in revenue. “We are their platform internationally, where they have around 11.7mio lives covered, just as an example”, says Ohnemus. Another example is Aon, which is online now. They have 27 million clients being served by 55’000 brokers world-wide, covering 120 countries.

Over the last months, dacadoo has regularly published news about new customers and partnerships for example with Oracle. Dacadoo’s Health Score is integrated into Oracle’s Life & Health insurance offering. Dacadoo does not provide information about its revenue however Peter Ohnemus told Startupticker that the company is paid by covered policy and that the revenue more than doubles every year.

Dacadoo has grown into a globally active company with more than 80 employees and offices in Switzerland, the USA, Canada, Spain, Denmark, Ukraine, Australia and China. An office in Japan will be opened soon.
