Lift announces selected companies for AlpICT Venture Night

AlpICT Venture Night is a highlight of the Lift conference taking place in Geneva annually. The companies for the next event in February have now been selected.

LiftAlp ICTCTI start-upSGE and the Service de la promotion économique de Genève have teamed up again to promote Swiss entrepreneurship at Lift with the Alp ICT Venture Night.

This event has become one of the startup highlights of the Lift Conference attracting over 600 participants and numerous journalists. In 2015 the competition will take place on Thursday February 5, early evening.

The selected start-ups:

Apelab is a swiss studio focusing on the future of interactive entertainment adapted to today’s digital media. The studio creates content for all kinds of technologies and aims at transforming them into engaging experience through compelling stories. In March 2014 the company were part of the Best in Play programme at GDC, an initiative to promote emerging developers at the world's largest and longest-running professionals-only game industry event.

Bestmile is a Swiss startup active in developing solutions and services for urban mobility. These offers are designed to manage any vehicle fleet which brings a solution to the last mile problem. In July 2014 Bestmile made the headlines with the test of a public transport system composed of autonomous vehicles on the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology’s campus in Lausanne.

Traditionally, clothes have been labelled using many different ad-hoc size systems including country-specific or vendor specific labels. Shoppers are confused about their size and measurements. EyeFitU solves this problem. The app enables users to find their perfect size in seconds when they are buying clothes online and instore.

Plair provides solutions for real-time air quality and pollution monitoring. Plair propose aerosol detectors and air analysis services to Research, Meteo, and Healthcare institutions concerned by air quality, contamination, and pollution. In September 2014 Plair has SA starts a series production of the Particle Analyzer PA-300.

Biowatch is a wrist vein reader that the start-up decline in several products. One is a wrist vein reader that can fit on watch bracelets, another is a bracelet for watches that includes the wrist vein reader, and some other products are Swiss made watches with a bracelet including the wrist vein reader. Other applications are possible. The BioWatch is the next step in mobile payment protection and smart device interaction.

ES Concept customises sport event broadcasting. ES Concept is a leading Information Technology services operation located in The Western part of Switzerland. The company owns its Swiss Knife, the Digit Arena patent pending technology. The Digit Arena technology naturally processes video streams in real time, including replacing advertisement in the stream.

The cloud-based Prodibi Portfolio enables rapid display, zoom and pan of extreme high-resolution images while using minimal internet bandwidth. Unlike other platforms which limit image size for more rapid web viewing, Prodibi Portfolio's fully rendered images quickly and easily display in any browser on tablets, smart phones, laptops and other devices.

GovFaces is a social network connecting people with politicians on burning issues. While social networking sites are widely used by politicians, only 7% actually interact with followers. On GovFaces, interaction is the key: citizens, organizations, journalists, and other users post questions or ideas directly to the profiles of politicians. A politician answers using text or video response, showing their face behind the screen.
