eHealth startups have continued to enter the market, yet their success rate has remained appalling. The Center of Advanced Studies on Entrepreneurship (CASE BioMed) at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano is offering a new program on eHealth Entrepreneurship to train entrepreneurs on how to start, finance and build a strong market position for their companies and secure future growth.

While digital health technologies advance and grow rapidly, they are continuously changing the practice of medicine and the doctor-patient relationship. Contributing to this trend are digital health enterprises and the digital health entrepreneurs whose aim is to create user-defined value through the design, development, roll out or launch, and harvesting of digital health innovative products, services, platforms, and models. Despite the continued rapid expansion of the digital health market, a high percentage of eHealth startups is unsuccessful in the long-term.

To help emerging eHealth companies understand and develop the keys to success, Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) through CASE BioMed has launched a one-week program on eHealth Business. The advanced training on eHealth Entrepreneurship will provide young and future entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills to enable them to tackle the critical issues and establish a strong position for their companies in the market. This will set the foundation for survival and future growth.

The program is organized in course modules with emphasis on eHealth entrepreneurship. It covers a wide variety of the segments of the eHealth industry. Participants will be trained on how to start, finance and grow an eHealth Business. The teaching program also includes topics on health information technology, national strategies in eHealth, technology platforms, regulatory affairs, intellectual property rights and reimbursement. Participants will receive insights and input through lectures and seminars taught by world-class instructors from the eHealth industry, academia and venture capital.

The program will take place from 25th – 29th May 2020. Eligible to participate are scientists and engineers wishing to get eHealth products and services to market, entrepreneurs and managers from eHealth companies and startups that wish to explore and better understand the global sector and investors interested in developing eHealth enterprises. Registration for the program is now open until 15 February 2020 and an early-bird discount applies until 15 December.
