Following pitches and a Q&A session at the Climate-KIC Venture Competition in Zurich last week (29 August), the jury announced two winners. In addition BoxTango was selected as audience choice.
ElectricFeel and OsmoBlue were selected as the two best Swiss climate start-ups of 2013 and were awarded a €20.000 grant each. Both start-ups will be participating in the European finals of Climate-KIC’s Venture Competition. Climate-KIC’s European finals will take place in Wroclaw next month
ElectricFeel provides a management solution for electric bike fleets to build new clean transportation systems for cities and enterprises.
OsmoBlue provides a sustainable and profitable opportunity to recycle industrial waste heat (at temperatures as low as 30°C) into hundreds of kW of electricity.
BoxTango was selected as audience choice and will be invited as Climate-KIC’s guests to the finals next month. BoxTango offers a scalable, flexible, mobile and cost-effective horizontal transshipment system for containers and swap bodies.
Climate-KIC aims to significantly accelerate the innovation required for the transformation to a low-carbon economy and to ensure Europe benefits from new technologies, company growth and jobs. Climate-KIC’s Swiss entrepreneurship programme aims to generate more climate-related start-up companies and to help accelerate market growth of such businesses.
