DAHU is the overall winner of the ISPO Awards in the category ski. ISPO is the world’s biggest trade show for the sports business.

DAHU was founded in 2011 by Nicolas Frey and has developed a new generation of ski boots which does allow its carrier to endure a whole day of winter sports with one pair of shoes. The DAHU ski boot has the same capabilities like a traditional ski boot on the slopes, the DAHU distinguishes itself through a removable exoskeleton that allows to hike, to go shopping, or to visit a restaurant in an unmatched level of comfort, and in an appealing design.

The concept was present for the first time at the ISPO last year. This year the start-up from Fribourg won a “Products of the Year” award at ISPO. ISPO is the world’s biggest trade show for the sports business, where companies can present their products to consumers and a broad audience of journalists and industry experts.

The jury of the ISPO Award comment: “"Even though modern ski boots have become high-tech products with many fascinating functional solutions, many people are unhappy about these bulky and stiff hardshells on their feet when it comes to general comfort – especially when walking or standing once the skis are taken off. The DAHU boot is a hybrid between a plastic ski boot and a soft winter boot. The soft boot can be used for all kinds of winter activities, and once it is inserted into the exoskeleton, the DAHU becomes a ski boot meeting all requirements of the ski industry, delivering full performance on the slope. All parts and functions as well as the interface connection are very well designed and crafted – and easy to operate. The jury agreed that DAHU deserves to be the Overall Winner with this very sophisticated and fully developed product that has the potential to revolutionize the ski boot market."
