First Swiss Venture Day in 2014 on the horizon

As usual, a wide range of high-quality start-ups will appear at the next Swiss Venture Day on 11 March in Zurich. There will be eight full pitches and one elevator pitch.

The companies for the upcoming 44th Swiss Venture Day at SWX Zurich were selected today. The Venture Day will start with the General Assembly of CTI Invest. More information and registration on the website of CTI Invest. In the morning an “Angel Day” will take place. The topic of this interactive workshop for business angels will be “Exit”. Speakers are Beat Speck and Christian Wenger (Wenger&Vieli), Alexander Grünwald (Altium), Myke Näf, Co-Founder Doodle, and Matthias Huber, Chairman Kooaba.

Eturnity helps home owners to answer all questions about solar power before they invest. The Eturnity Hub measures real-time electricity consumption, streams real-time, location specific solar data from a online weather station network and simulates a battery system, which stores all excess solar energy. Home owners will get a precise assessment of their financial return of the simulated system.

Mimedis provides implant design software for surgeons considering given anatomical guidelines. Having the design ready, the company produces and delivers personalized implants within few working days using highly flexible production processes such as "3D Printing".

Founded in 2009, Obexia is a privately held biopharmaceuticals start-up company based in Basel. Obexia focuses on the development of breakthrough therapies for cachexia & anorexia conditions to improve people’s lives.

Polarmond is developing an air-insulated and ultra-light all-in-one tent including the traditional functions of tent, sleeping bag and air mattress. As a result of that and due to the realization free from tent poles, weight and volume of package are reduced. The room inside the tent is rapidly warmed up by the heat emission of the body.

Powzy is a gamified mobile marketing platform for consumer brands. The platform is a first of its kind mobile marketing channel for acquiring consumers through mobile apps and games, and the start-up offers an ad network to B2C companies to advertise and acquire consumers through mobile devices.

Dorphan is a company, whose objective is the development of treatments for rare and orphan genetic diseases, in particular those severely affecting children.

Swiss Medendi has developed the HC100, an innovative and safe infusion device that substantially changes how vesicant and irritant drugs such as drugs used in chemotherapy will be infused by utilizing a proprietary patented technology.

Company with an elevator pitch:
The dacadoo Health Score Web Platform and the dacadoo mobile applications enable people to track, document and benchmark their health and wellbeing in real-time in an easy and fun way. Dacadoo applies techniques from the gaming industry, group dynamics from social networks and provides relevant lifestyle feedback to users to motivate them to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
