Amicomed closes seed round

Launchpad Digital Health is an accelerator providing capital, time and engagement for its portfolio companies and their founders. Each company accepted into the immersion program receives: 1) capital in the form of up to a $500,000 initial investment, 2) time commitment in the form of a year-long program, co-location with other startups in the digital health sector and the Launchpad Digital Health team, and 3) intensity in the form of daily and weekly engagement with Launchpad Digital Health's founders, partners and advisors.

Launchpad Digital Health has now announced the closing of a seed round for five companies selected for the accelerator program. "Another great group of companies have closed seed rounds, as we have funded a series of top tier companies and entrepreneurs in digital health," said Fred Toney, CEO & Co-Founder of Launchpad Digital Health.

One of the companies that closed a seed round is Amicomed, headquartered in Lugano. The company developed the first fully digital consumer hypertension lifestyle modification program. Amicomed will further advance its hypertension solution to help United States tackle the spreading high blood pressure epidemic.

Amicomed’s solution enables users to manage their blood pressure through a 3-month lifestyle modification program. The program (available both online and inside an App) empowers users to master high blood pressure while changing their lifestyle in terms of diet and physical exercises. The program sets weekly goals and recommends a daily diet and physical activities to carry out –tailored for each individual user considering their habits and needs – and also reminds them when to measure their blood pressure. Amicomed gives the user the feeling that they are taking care of their blood pressure with the help of a dietician and personal trainer.
