Swiss Fintech Awards: Four Finalists selected

The four finalists for the Swiss Fintech Awards 2017 have been nominated. The two finalists of the early stage startup category have the chance to win CHF24’000.

The Swiss FinTech Awards are designed to promote regional development while helping create the strongest possible Swiss fintech ecosystem underpinned by international network links. The Awards specifically recognise outstanding Swiss based fintech startups and influencers.

There are two categories – “Early Stage Startup of the Year”(for startups younger than two years or have less than CHF 2.5 million in funding) and “Growth Stage Startup of the Year”(for startups older than two years or have more than CHF 2.5 million in funding) have been selected.

The finalists are:

Early Stage Startup of the Year

Crowdhouse is an investment platform, which allows anyone to invest easily and with an entry in the land registrer in Swiss real estate. The return is generated from the rental income and distributed quarterly. In addition, each investor participates directly in the increase of the value of the property.

Gatechain has developed solutions for trade finance on a decentralised network which allows to seamlessly connect all participants in the trade ecosystem. The blockchain based solutions allow to significantly reduce processing time and costs while improving cash-flow in trade.

Growth Stage Startup of the Year

Bexio is Switzerland‘s leading provider of cloud based business- and accounting software for small businesses. But bexio’s offering goes beyond providing just a software. The start-up has built a platform which connects SME with banks increasing the efficiency of accounting and payment processes. More than 8‘000 companies are using bexio. With up to 600 new businesses joining the bexio platform each month, the company is one of Switzerland’s fastest growing startups.

Alls finalists will pitch to the audience at the Finanz und Wirtschaft Forum “FinTech 2017 – Drivers of Change“ on 9 March. The winners will be announced at the Swiss FinTech Awards Night which will be held on the same day after the Forum.
