PumpTire, a start-up from Geneva, is commercializing the first self-pressurizing bicycle tire. The company is supported by CTI Start-up. How this support works is the topic of a radio show.

Under normal operation, bicycle tires lose air pressure because of their thin sidewalls and high operating pressures. PumpTire solves this problem by incorporating a clever feature directly into the tire that draws in air from the outside and pushes it into the tire during riding. Once the tire reaches the set operating pressure, the system stops pumping. The tires are compatible with existing rims and require no additional equipment.

Founder and CEO of Pumptire is Ben Krempel, a serial entrepreneur living in Geneva. At the moment Krempel is trying to turn his idea into a viable business. He has contacted CTI Start-up and got the Coaching acceptance in February. Since then he gets support from his coach Emmanuel de Watteville. One example for this coaching is the advice of the coach to do some simple market research visiting bike retailers.

The story of Krempel and his coach is told in a radio show by World Radio Switzerland. The show gives a very good impression of the CTI coaching process. In addition there is an interview with Walter Steinlin, Head of CTI, explaining what CTI and CTI Start-up are doing.
