Cooperation of TIMEREPUBLIK and the municipality of Messina

The website ot TIMEREPUBLIK, publicly launched on September 2013 and allows its registered users to pay for services and favors with time instead of money. Users offering their service to another users will be paid in ‘time units’. TIMEREPUBLIK embraces more than 300 categories of ‘talents’ in its database and growing. These ‘time units’ will be stored in a personal ‘time wallet’ and could be spent whenever and for whatever service you might need. This innovative system, similarly to AirBnB and BlaBlaCar, is based on the recent models provided by the sharing economy, which contemplates accurate feedbacks from and to the members of the community.TIMEREPUBLIK's community currently counts approximately 10,000 members from over 80 countries, who can exchange more 20,000 talents.

Citizens who will help to keep streets and beaches clean, who will take care of parks, and so on, will be paid in units of time by their city. Messina will also reward this civic participation by providing spaces and services related to their domain.”

TIMEREPUBLIK was founded in 2012 by Karim Varini and Gabriele Donati. Both founders are from Ticino but Gabriele Donati is living in New York since several years. The company is headquartered in Lugano.
