Nhumi has launched a new version of its Healthcorpus website. Healthcorpus.com has now a search engine to retrieve medical articles from simple clicks on a virtual body. It is the first time such search interface is offered for health content. In addition Nhumi announced that the start-up participates in an EU funded project.

Healthcorpus.com helps patients, physicians and other specialist find, create and share health information online. The website was developed by the Swiss start-up Nhumi. Healthcorpus.com now has a new search engine for medical articles. It is fully dedicated to visual queries over a virtual body: users click a body part and the system retrieves the most relevant articles. The user can then refine the search by selecting topics of interest such as side effects, back pain or itches for instance. 14,000 medical articles are currently indexed. New content will be added over time. It is the first time such search interface is offered for health content.

In addition users can contribute and write their own story, article or blog on any health topic. If they make it public, the search engine will catch it and offer it to other visitors when they search over the body.

In addition Nhumi announced that the start-up participates in an EU funded project. The project “Machine Learning for Personalized Medicine” aims to bring the vision of personalised medicine closer to reality. The project is funded with more than EUR3 million. Industrial partners include companies like Siemens but also Nhumi. Nhumi Technologies was founded by three IBM alumni in March 2009 and is based in Zurich, Switzerland. The company was awarded the CTI Start-up label last October.
