Three finalists selected for Prix Strategis

The Prix Strategis has been awarded every year for more than 20 years by the association HEC Espace Entreprise. Prix Strategis was intended as a springboard for young enterprises that have a big potential. It was designed to promote promising start-ups at a key moment of their existence in a financial and strategic point of view. To make the 20th edition of the Prize special as well as the following ones, the organizers decided to open Prix Strategis to all start-ups throughout Switzerland.

The finalists of the 21^st edition of Prix Strategis are:

DomoSafety - The core innovation of DomoSafety lies in the algorithm which allows to analyze the behavior of elderly people by using sensors installed in strategic places in their home. The system identifies potential risks possibly linked to a modification in their usual patterns of behavior and consequently activates an alarm (either anticipatory or “emergency”) directed to the appropriate person (relative, hospital, …). Everything works with an intuitive user interface.

L.E.S.S. - L.E.S.S. SA is an emerging company that develops edge lighting devices that enable the design of thinner, low-power consumption displays, perfect for the growing market of tablets and ultrabooks. Light is not distributed through various LEDs placed successively, but by dispersing a radius no bigger than a hair. The system works much like a hose in which we would have made holes all along in order for the water to be distributed evenly. At a system level, our technology enables the manufacturers to provide tablets and notebooks with increased autonomy or faster processors with the same battery budget.

Newscron - Newscron is a news aggregator app for smartphones. Newscron can be customized according to your individual preferences; you have the possibility to choose the geographical regions and categories of news you wish to receive. Its unique and proprietary algorithm filters all news in order to select exactly what you wish to read. Newscron already developed partnerships with newspapers such as 24Heures, La Tribune de Genève, Le Figaro, Le Monde, The Guardian, and many more.
