MassChallenge was officially launched in Switzerland on 10 February and is accepting applications until 31 March. This week, the organizers provided additional information about the Swiss acceleration program and the prize money.

Between 50-100 startups will be selected for the Swiss acceleration program after two rounds of judging and for 4 months will benefit from free office space and a prototyping lab at UniverCity, based in the Ateliers de la Ville de Renens, Vaud. They have the opportunity to compete for the final pitch with prize money reaching up to CHF 1 Million. In addition, selected companies will receive mentoring and coaching, as well as access to a global network of high-level corporate and governmental connections.

The accelerator will combine MassChallenge’s no-equity, competition-based model with the talent and potential of Swiss startup ecosystem. The accelerator aims to attract startups from Switzerland, other parts of Europe and beyond, who want to understand and access Switzerland’s unique innovation culture and progress in high technology.

MassChallenge Switzerland will take care of the accommodation when it is required therefore allowing Swiss and foreign startups to fully benefit from the acceleration program.

“We are encouraging start-ups to make the most of this fantastic opportunity and apply to join the equity-free MassChallenge acceleration program, providing support to entrepreneurs”, said Ksenia Tugay, Director of Marketing at MassChallenge Switzerland.
