Based on its recent analysis of the fleet management software market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes BestMile with the 2016 European Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation. The award comes at the right time: From Monday on BestMile will present at CeBIT, the world's leading IT tradefair. Together with CarPostal & Navya BestMile will run the first live autonomous shuttle demonstration at CeBIT.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product by leverage leading-edge technologies. The award recognises the value-added features/benefits of the product and the increased ROI it offers customers, which, in turn, raises customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.

Acknowledging the vision behind its cloud-based fleet management solutions for autonomous cars, Frost & Sullivan presented BestMile with the 2016 European Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation. Frost & Sullivan firmly believes that BestMile will be instrumental in building a new mobility paradigm.

“With no driver required to man the vehicle, fleet management becomes of strategic importance in order to improve capacity utilization, reduce operational and marginal costs, optimize routes and vehicles utilization.” said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Ankita Mukherji. “Improving connectivity between all modes of transportation, BestMile’s solution will play a strategic role in journey planning services.”

From Monday on 200'000 industry professionals who are expected at CeBIT can test the system themselves. In addition to exhibiting in Hall 6, the “SmartShuttle” partners are bringing the autonomous shuttle to Hannover. For the first time, visitors will be able to enjoy a ride in autonomous shuttle in Hall 13. Thanks to BestMile’s technology, passengers may even request a shuttle directly from their smartphone.

The pioneering Smart Shuttle project in the heart of Sion marks the first instance where fully autonomous, driverless and electric shuttles are operating on a daily basis in a city center location – both in pedestrian areas and on the open road – and are an integral part of the existing public transport network. More than 25,000 people have been transported so far. The two so-called SmartShuttles have covered around 3,000 kilometers in the streets and alleyways of Sion.

BestMile is one of the first providers of fleet management solutions for autonomous vehicles. The startup offers cloud-based computing technologies for operating autonomous vehicle fleets. Its open source integration protocol ensures that its solutions are compatible with vehicles manufactured by various automakers, and its software with any type of hardware. It delivers on- demand and fixed route services through a B2B2C cloud platform that enables the real-time automated dispatch of vehicles, route optimisation, and energy management. The interface for its platform is accessible to both operators and passengers, providing real-time updates and functioning as a booking portal.
