The Startupticker Foundation is the new operator of the news platform startupticker.ch. The web portal of the Swiss start-up scene has been modernised and is now ‘responsive’. Registered users can also now create their own personal news archive.

The online portal startupticker.ch has been reporting the daily news from the young Swiss entrepreneur scene for the last five years. And with growing success: the site has more than 1,200 daily users and 6,000 readers subscribe to the weekly newsletter.

In order to secure the operation of the news portal for the young Swiss entrepreneur scene over the long term, the founders established the Startupticker Foundation under the aegis of the Fondation des Fondateurs. The former carrier association was dissolved and the Foundation has been the Swiss start-up portal’s new operating body since the beginning of year.

New Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees comprises a broad network of people involved in the young entrepreneur scene from all over Switzerland: Pascale Vonmont (Gebert Rüf Foundation, president); Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier (CTI Invest, vice chairman), Ulrich Geilinger (Stiftung Natur und Umwelt), Marjan Kraak (ETH transfer), Jean-Philippe Lallement (EPFL Innovation Park Foundation) and Roberto Poretti (Start-up Promotion Centro Ticino).

“The portal startupticker.ch is anchored in the start-up scene throughout the country. This is guaranteed not only by the new structure, but also by the three dozen organisations and companies from all over Switzerland that support the operation of the news portal and stand for a vibrant young entrepreneur scene,” says Pascale Vonmont.

‘Responsive’ architecture and additional services
The internet presence of startupticker.ch has now been upgraded and made ‘responsive’, which means that the design adjusts automatically to all different devices – from desktop computer to tablet and smartphone. “In future, we will publish more features in order to increase the benefits of the platform for young entrepreneurs and supporters,” explains Stefan Kyora, Managing Editor.

The first new service is the personal archive: registered users can build their own personal news archive immediately on startupticker.ch. Announcements of events and press releases from start-ups and funding organisations can be uploaded directly on to the content management system. Further functions, such as an alert system for funding contributions and awards, will be switched on gradually over the coming months.
