Hack the City and HackZurich join forces to promote Ticino hackers

The HTC team has launched of a new edition of the Hackathon coupled with several highlights. As of this year, HTC will take place only on two days. Over the course of 40 hours, participants – developers, designers, makers and those involved in technology, entrepreneurship and innovation – will work in teams to develop highly innovative prototypes for web, mobile and desktop applications. The hackathon will begin on Saturday, September 2 at 8:00AM and end on Sunday, September 3 at 5:00PM. Attendees will have less time to work compared to the previous editions. The rules and evaluation criteria will be adapted accordingly. Registration for the HTC 2017 is open.

Prior to the Hackathon, the HTC team has organised a two-day event (Thursday, August 31 and Friday, September 1st) dedicated to tech talks and round tables. Speakers will provide insights on the latest events that have unfolded in the digital industry. HTC participants will have the chance to be inspired by the guests and speakers.

In addition, HTC has joined forces with HackZurich, one of the Europe’s largest Hackathon in Europe which unites more than 550 tech talents from over 50 countries. Their objective is to bring Ticino and Zurich closer. Thanks to this collaboration, southern hackers will now have the opportunity to travel north to participate in Digital festival in September. HackZurich will award the HTC17 first prize winner a wild card to digital Fesival.

This joint effort will enable HTC to facilitate its talents by connecting them to potential supporters, teams, investors among others.
