New CEOs take the helm

H55 develops certified electric propulsion and battery systems, currently being used in a wide variety of aviation applications. The nomination of Martin Larose as the new CEO will enable H55 to respond to a fast-growing market demand for its products and solutions. With the size of the company doubling every year, certification and commercialization of its full electric propulsion system foreseen by the end of 2024, a customer service organization currently being put in place, and the setting up of automated production facilities in Switzerland and Canada, Martin’s experience in aviation and electric mobility will play a key role in the next chapter of the company’s growth, further accelerating H55’s position as the leading enabler in clean aviation. 

Coming from Nova Bus, the subsidiary of the Volvo Group whereby he was division President, Martin was directly responsible for managing all aspects of the business from sales to product development, through to operations. Prior to joining Volvo, Martin held various senior management roles in the aviation industry, rising to the position of Director of Aircraft Operations for Bombardier whereby he managed teams in aircraft operations, flights, final product delivery, and customer projects. Here his notable achievement was in production rate improvements, through the implementation of lean concepts.

André Borschberg (Co-Founder), who has held both the role of CEO and Executive Chairman since the company’s creation in 2017, will now focus on his Chairmanship functions, which include overall strategy, key customer and supplier stakeholder relationships, investor relations and external affairs. H55’s other 2 Co-Founders, Sébastien Demont and Gregory Blatt will continue with their current roles as CTO and CMO respectively.

Marco Reber takes over as CEO at ecoo AG

As of 1 March, Marco Reber took over the CEO position at ecoo from Marc van Nuffel, who has held the position ad interim since last year. The start-up develops a platform where users can create their own purpose-built coin that can be tailored to their specific needs. It is based on the blockchain technology of Tezos.

Marco Reber, 49, combines experience from large companies such as SBB, Swiss Post and Swisscom with a strong track record in digital business and start-ups. He is Chairman of the Board of Helloswitzerland AG and is a lecturer at WKS Bern in the area of "Strategic Management, Change & Innovation".

In his role, Marco Reber will focus on market positioning and customer orientation in order to lay the foundation for sustainable success. In addition, he will also continue to build up the organisation and continuously adapt the necessary structures according to the situation. Marc van Nuffel will remain with ecoo as a member of the Board of Directors and will support the company in technical matters.

Nexxiot onboards Chief Data Officer

Ákos Maróy, who has been at the forefront of digital deployments, strategy, and innovation for over 20 years, working with some of the largest technology companies in the world, has now joined the Nexxiot team. In the role of CDO (Chief Data Officer), Maróy will oversee the leveraging of asset and cargo data gathered by Nexxiot’s Asset Intelligence technology. The Switzerland headquartered company serves asset owners, carriers, shippers, and cargo transport stakeholders across the logistics network.

Maróy has been working in the past as a CTO and innovation leader with a focus on deploying AI in various fields. With multiple successes in Cloud-based SAAS architectures in a B2B environment, Maróy is a hands-on leader who strongly believes in creating new value from an R&D-based approach – especially with trending technologies like Machine Learning and AI. With recent experience at both Google and Meta as a manager in software engineering, Maróy joins Nexxiot to support its clients’ growth.
