The Swiss coffee start-up algrano did it again: After the Start-up Chile Program, algrano was selected for the Start-up Brasil Program.

Last summer, the Start-up Chile Program selected for the first time a Swiss start-up. Algrano was part of the Generation 8 and spent 6 months within the world's biggest start-up community in Santiago de Chile.

This year, algrano was selected for the class 3 of the Start-Up Brasil Program. The publicly founded Start-Up Brasil Program is a closed collaboration with 12 private accelerators spread across the country. algrano found a strong partner in Start You Up accelerator in Vitoria. Vitoria is a major coffee export hub.

Algrano is building an online marketplace that enables direct trade of specialty coffee from producers directly to coffee roasters. During the next 12 months, algrano will further develop their community marketplace for green coffee.

The start-up is run by three long-term friends. Gilles Brunner holds a Master Degree in International Relations and has worked for several years in the coffee trading industry. Christian Burri has an IT and Physics background and served as a sustainability consultant. Raphael Studer, PhD in Economics, held positions as analyst in energy trading and business developer in a small cap.
