DAHU presents its new collection

Last winter DAHU has launched the first model of its revolutionary ski boot on the European market. Thousand pairs were sold. This year the start-up from Fribourg presents 6 models and increases its reach.

DAHU's story began in 2009 when the wife of Nicolas Frey could not find any ski boots that did not hurt her feet, even after trying top of the line injected boots that were molded to fit them. But, where most of us accept defeat, he saw an opportunity to develop something different, something revolutionary: "We needed to completely rethink the design of modern ski boots." he explains. He started to design the first prototypes on paper and to put them together in his garage.

A trained designer with a passion for winter sports, he began the task with no preconceptions and followed his instinct. However, the task proved to be far from simple. Trying to find the right compromise between rigidity and flexibility, safety and comfort, performance and style... Reinventing something whose design has not changed for 40 years. A real hunt for the ideal ski boot began until the goal was reached after four long years of development.

Taking his inspiration from Hollywood's super heroes, Nicolas took the idea of an exoskeleton: a rigid external armature that allows for optimal transfer to the ski, whilst the soft boot offers all the comfort and precision required to better guide your skis.

Thousand pairs sold in the first season
Last winter the first model was launched. DAHU met with a need and made a bold entrance into the world of skiing. In Geneva, the first shipment sold out in half a day, and the boots had to be restocked several times to keep up with the incredible demand. In Lausanne, DAHU accounted for 72% of boot sales for its retailer. DAHU surprised people, got them thinking, and won them over. Ten stores were added to the list of retailers over the season. Ultimately, one thousand pairs of DAHU were sold in the first season.

Now the company has launched its collection for 2014/15: It consists of 6 models: 2 women's models, 2 men's models and the brand's flagship boot, JOE & JANE. This is a pioneer of a new generation of ski boots launched by DAHU and now available with two levels of flexibility.

In addition to the new models DAHU is also gradually increasing its reach. This winter DAHU will be present in Poland and Norway. For the financing of the growth DAHU hast started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
