The Zurich Climate Prize Switzerland & Liechtenstein will be awarded for the third time in 2016. Projects are sought that contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by cutting resource consumption, increasing energy efficiency or bringing about changes in behavior. There is a main prize worth CHF 50,000 and prizes for each of the categories - Transport & Mobility, Building & Housing, Production & Consumption – worth CHF 25,000 each. Start-up companies can win a special prize.

The current call for projects has generated 97 submissions, each an important signal for the reduction of greenhouse emissions. As many as 40 start-up companies submitted their project, and while the shortlist is not published, it can be said that projects display a broad range and offer high quality.
