The newly launched QAI Venture accelerator program is looking for quantum computing and Artificial Intelligence startups for the first edition. Starting 10 July, the 5-month program will provide selected startups access to investment, the QuantumBasel ecosystem and Quantum infrastructure to test and validate their technologies in a real-world environment at an early stage.

QAI Ventures is the investment arm of QuantumBasel, investing in quantum-tech startups with its first fund. With a target of raising over CHF 75 million, the fund will provide up to CHF 2 million pre-seed to series A investment to startups developing Quantum and artificial intelligence solutions. According to Alexandra Beckstein, CEO of QAI Ventures AG, the fund is now active and ready to make its first investment.

In addition to investing, the fund has launched a 12-month accelerator program to strengthen the Quantum ecosystem by providing startups in the quantum and AI space with resources, including access to Quantum infrastructure– which has been, until today, reserved for large companies or universities. This will allow them to test and validate their technologies in a real-world environment in their early stage.

During five months, they will get access to corporate and academic partners, an extensive network of mentors for 1:1 sessions, experts and investors. Moreover, the startups will receive support in building their teams and developing business models, marketing and sales strategies in addition to an investment of CHF 100’000 in cash, with the option to secure a follow-on investment through QAI Ventures.

Registration for the accelerator is ongoing until 20 May 2023. Up to six startups will win a spot in the program.

Thomas Landis to lead operations
As of this month, Thomas Landis holds the position of Chief Operating Office at QAI Ventures AG, responsible for the accelerator program. Landis has been an active member of the Swiss startup scene. He successfully built the F10 FinTech Incubator & Accelerator with his team at SIX Group. He was also responsible for the launch of the mobile payment solution Paymit, now TWINT.
