Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Swiss Business Hub in London are organising an entrepreneurs’ and R&D trip for Swiss companies in the FinTech and cyber security sector in November 2014. Participants have the opportunity to establish contacts, gain market information and build up brand awareness in Great Britain.

Great Britain’s ICT market is one of the most important in Europe – consumers in Great Britain spend more per capita on ICT products than anywhere else. According to UKTI, the British Foreign trade promotion organization, the country’s ICT expenditure amounts to approximately CHF 215 billion per year. Great Britain, and London in particular, has established itself as a FinTech centre of excellence within Europe and is pioneering digitization of the industry. This innovative financial centre for FinTech and IT security products offers Swiss ICT companies extremely interesting opportunities, especially if they wish to establish themselves internationally.

The United Kingdom represents a great deal of potential for Swiss ICT companies, especially for security products. British financial institutions are actively looking for new FinTech products internationally and are investing in start-up accelerators.

Swiss companies are in a very good position thanks to their excellent reputation for reliability, safety and innovation. However, it is advisable that companies carefully think through entering the most important and largest ICT market in Europe and, generally, operating and networking internationally. In addition personal relationships play a significant role in Great Britain. In particular, executives can often only be accessed by those individuals who have already worked with them.

Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Swiss Business Hub in London are organising an entrepreneurs’ and R&D trip for Swiss companies in the FinTech and cyber security sector in November 2014. Interested companies can make B2B contacts locally with potential end-users in the financial world. Similarly, the bank of the future will be addressed with industry experts. To mark this business trip, a British-Swiss Eurostars bid will be launched for financial support for bilateral research projects. The trip will take place in cooperation with the industry organizations Swiss Made Software, AlpICT, ICT Switzerland as well as SBFI and UKTI.
