Casual gamers are usually playing video games for themselves. The start-up N-Dream wants to change this with its virtual gaming console. The idea behind AirConsole is to bring true social gaming back to life.

N-Dream’s AirConsole is a virtual gaming console with features much like a standard video game console. The major difference is that players only need two items: a big screen and a smartphone, both with internet access. A big screen (PC, Mac, SmartTV or tablet) functions as the console and smartphones are transformed into a gamepad. Once the players are connected AirConsole allows them to enjoy a games controlled with their smartphone, which automatically adapts to fit the control scheme of each game. All devices need to be connected to the web, but it doesn't have to be same WIFI.

Nowadays many games and platform offer multiplayer online games, but you most probably will be playing alone at your place. N-Dream wants to change this “The idea behind AirConsole is to bring true social gaming back to life: People that play games in the same room and have real social interaction and most importantly tons of fun”, explains Rafael Morgan, Product and Marketing Manager at N-Dreams.

AirConsole starts with six games that have been developed by N-Dream. “We want to boost real social gaming. We want 3rd party game studios to develop on top of our platform”, says Rafael Morgan. Developers don’t have to develop totally new games. Any browser game and any “Unity3d” game can be ported to AirConsole.

N-Dream is based in Zurich. The company was found in January 2015 and had raised CHF 1.35 million from investors.
