Swisscom and two other leading European telcos are offering startups a unique opportunity to collaborate around next generation telco-services or functions. This is the first of a series of calls for innovation, where Swisscom and partner companies are reaching out to find startups and other innovators to help Swisscom with innovative solutions to create greater value for its customers.

Swisscom, in collaboration with Telia Company and Proximus, three leading telecommunication providers from across Europe, are jointly issuing a Call for Innovation and invite startups and innovators developing "Next Generation Virtual Telco Functions & Services (SDN / NFV 2.0)" to submit their ideas.

The best startups will be able to pitch their solution in front of an expert jury and have the chance to be selected for a (Proof of Concept) PoC project and future collaboration with all three telcos. The collaboration will ideally develop to the very end which means that the new application is operational on the platform of the one or more telcos. Swisscom and its partners are also willing to publicly showcase the project at the next industry events and to connect people with their preferred vendors of the baseline platform for eventual re-use or re-distribution of such functionality, if that makes sense.

Eligible to apply are startups with innovative ideas around the topics related to SDN/NFV development within the telecommunication industry. These include; Cloud native Business Support systems, Cloud native Telco Functions, New end-to-end applications/ services related to Network infrastructure and Access Network Hardware enabling softwarization at the edge of the network.
