Venture Leaders is a unique start-up award. Promising high-tech entrepreneurial personalities can win an entrepreneurial development program in the Boston area. Deadline for the application is March 1st.

Every year, 20 carefully selected scientific entrepreneurs get a unique chance to give their start-up business a boost. As winners of the venture leaders award, they form the Swiss national start-up team and participate in a 10-day business development program in the Boston area (USA).

The venture leaders program is run by venturelab, a national start-up training program by the Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI, with the support of the international Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst&Young and Swissnex Boston. Eligible to participate in the venture leaders prize are scientists pursuing a concrete business opportunity based on their research and start-up entrepreneurs with global growth ambitions.

The first step to win the entrepreneurial programme is the application. Deadline is March 1st. The 40 best applicants will present their project to a jury. Along with the business idea, other important elements will be entrepreneurial personality, social skills and, last but not least, good presentation skills in English. The presentation and interviews will take place on March. The participants will be personally invited.

The 20 winners will fly to Boston in June. The 10 days programme includes:

  • Presentation to experts and investors from the Boston area, per industry sector
  • Start-up visits
  • Knowledge workshops with experts in US business development, IP, corporate affairs, …
  • Babson entrepreneurship training
  • Execution workshops focusing on developing your company “hands-on”
  • Group feedback sessions
  • Multiple networking events with the high-tech entrepreneurs’ scene
  • Flexibility for personal business development activities during the all stay
