More than 1500 private investors have already invested via Verve. To strengthen its position as the most advanced European venture capital investment platform, Swiss venture capital firm Verve Ventures raised a Series C. In addition, former ZKB CEO Martin Scholl joined the board of directors.

To further invest in its digital platform, serve more pioneering investors and drive new partnerships, Verve has raised a Series C financing round from several high-profile investors. At the same time, Martin Scholl, former CEO of Zürcher Kantonalbankk (Switzerland’s third-largest bank) will join Verve Ventures’ board of directors.

“I am fascinated by venture capital as an investor and want to help other people discover it for themselves. By joining Verve’s board of directors, I want to signal to everyone out there that Verve is a company I believe in personally and that Verve is a company you can trust and should know if you want to invest in startups”, says Martin Scholl.

In a longer interview published by Verve, Scholl speaks about the background of his decision and his view on Verve. In addition, he provides an insight into his personal investment activities. Over the last seven years, he built up a portfolio of more than 50 startups – the majority of investments have been done via the Verve Ventures platform -, and already had 8 exits. He prefers to make smaller investments in many different industries with the goal of reaching broad diversification, as he realized that many important success factors, for example, the reaction of the market to a new product, are difficult to predict.

Verve Ventures has established itself as one of the best ways for private investors to build a diversified portfolio of startup investments across Europe. Verve Ventures' assets under management now exceed EUR 300 million. The number of top executives and entrepreneurs who have already invested via Verve has reached more than 1500 and continues to grow every week.

“The many years spent building a high-quality network of investors and a cutting-edge digital platform to serve them have paid off. We’re proud to welcome Martin Scholl as a new board member, who will help us establish new partnerships with banks that want to offer their clients a more entrepreneurial way to invest”, says Lukas Weber, co-founder of Verve Ventures. Recently, Swiss private bank Bergos has partnered with Verve Ventures, while business angel clubs in 7 different European countries have already established ties with Verve.
