Verve Ventures Fund I closes at CHF 58 million

The second tranche of the Verve Venture Fund I (VVF I) raised an additional CHF 13 million, bringing the total amount to CHF 58 million. Aiming to provide growth capital to the most promising startups in Verve’s portfolio, the fund has already made 7 investments.

Verve Ventures is one of Europe’s most active deep-tech investors, boasting 13 years of experience in finding, evaluating, and supporting startups. It invests EUR 500k to several million in Seed and Series B rounds of startups across Europe. Based on scientific excellence, Verve has built up a portfolio of more than 160 startups.

With the establishment of the Verve Venture Fund I (VVF I), the venture capital firm aims to provide growth capital to the most promising startups in Verve’s portfolio. The fund builds upon the track records and the insights that Verve’s investment team has gathered by accompanying founders on their journey. During the first closing, CHF 45 million was raised, and in the second closing, the fund raised an additional CHF 13 million. So far, the fund has already invested in 7 of Verve’s portfolio companies.

Since its inception, Verve has provided qualified investors access to a high-quality stream of new investment opportunities on a deal-by-deal basis. “With VVF I, Verve has launched a new product for investors who want to invest in a diversified European venture capital in a professional SICAV fund structure”, says Lukas Weber, Verve Ventures’ co-founder.

“Building on the positive feedback from the market, we are already working on the next product that leverages our deep technical expertise. The next fund will invest in companies letting us make smarter use of resources, move towards clean energy, and reduce emissions”, Lukas Weber adds.
