VirtaMed launched module for virtual shoulder arthroscopy
The ArthroS simulator of VirtaMed now also offers a shoulder module. As with the knee, the shoulder model also provides realistic tactile sensation, and the surgeon trains with original instruments to be perfectly prepared for the operating room.
VirtaMed provides orthopedic surgeons with the most advanced and comprehensive training system for diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopy. After a long phase of research, development and expert feedback sessions, the ArthroS finally features a shoulder module. The anatomic shoulder model provides realistic tactile sensation. The platform combines the best of two worlds: The real haptic feeling of the shoulder model with the widespread possibilities of virtual reality simulation.
With the luxury of the same highly realistic training environment as the existing knee module, surgeons can now enhance their skills for shoulder arthroscopy on the ArthroS simulator. Both diagnostic and operative procedures are available, as well as basic skill training for beginners in arthroscopy.
Virtamed was founded in 2007 and received the CTI Start-up Label in 2008.
