This year the 10-year Jubilee of the Zürich-San Francisco sister city relationship will be celebrated. And start-ups can benefit from it: Part of the week-long program is a special event in San Francisco, “Precision Health: the Citizen’s Revolution.”  Start-ups have the chance to meet potential partners and to present their products and services at a poster session.

Many countries face increasing health-related challenges from their aging populations, changing health risks, and need to build affordable healthcare systems with new technology. Switzerland is poised to deliver on these fronts through a broad array of health innovation products and services built on world class scientific and commercial research and development – including new combinations of medical devices, software and data.

To leverage Switzerland’s unique position among key innovators, thought leaders, researchers and investors, the City of Zürich, in partnership with Life Science Zürich Business Network and RollSpeed, is hosting a special event, “Precision Health: the Citizen’s Revolution,” on 4 June, 2013 at swissnex San Francisco.

Prominent speakers from Zürich and San Francisco will address the citizen’s essential role in shaping new technology-based health services, products and business models in areas such as mobile health, digital health, medical devices, and healthcare IT. This event is part of a week-long program celebrating the 10-year Jubilee of the Zürich-San Francisco sister city relationship.

The half-day program will include keynote speakers and panel discussions exploring questions about new uses of technology in the future of health, and the roles the citizen can play in enabling new health paradigms. The event will also provide the opportunity for participants to network and informally dialogue about this rapidly developing sector.

In addition to the speakers and attendees, the event will include a display of posters describing healthtech products, services and research. Poster topics should be submitted for consideration by 30 April, 2013.
