On January 15 the HUB Zürich hosts the Investment Ready Program with the aim of bridging the gap between social & cleantech entrepreneurs and impact investors. Application Deadline is 2 January.

The goal of the Investment Ready Program (IRP) is to advance social entrepreneurship through capacity building on the side of social entrepreneurs and on the side of impact investors. The program has been initiated by Social-Impact International and the HUB Vienna in fall 2011, with a strong focus on Central and Eastern Europe. This year Investment Ready hosts Warm-up workshops in five different cities, one of them being Zurich. The full program takes place in Vienna in the first half of 2013. HUB Zürich is partnering with the HUB Vienna Incubation Center and Toniic to organize the Warm-up in Zurich on January 15.

IRP for Social Entrepreneurs
Start-ups have the opportunity to learn the basics and see whether the full academy makes sense for them. Also, they will get the opportunity to network with investors from the Zurich impact investing scene who will want to heartheir 90 second mock pitch at the end of the day. The IRP Warm-up focuses on the following three fields:

  • Business Model Development: how can a social enterprise improve its business model?
  • Investment Case: how to build an investment case specifically for impact investors?
  • 90 Second Pitch: how to articulate the strengths of a venture to get impact investors interested?
More information and an application form can be found on the website of the Hub Zürich. Application deadline is 2 January.

IRP for Impact Investors
The impact investor workshop provides an informal learning format for impact investors to share their experiences, successes and failures. As part of the Investment Ready Program, HUB Zürich and Toniic invite individuals who make investment decisions for themselves or for their respective organizations.
In a small group of trusted peers, we will learn from experienced impact investors, share our own learnings and exchange thoughts in a private atmosphere (‘pitch-free zone’). At the end of the day, we will be introduced to up to 20 early-stage social entrepreneurs during 90 second mock-pitches and a joint Apéro.
Contact Christoph Birkholz if you would like to know more. The impact investor workshop is by invitation only and and organized in partnership with Credit Suisse.
