Optotune announces cooperation for the LED lighting market

The tunable lenses of Optotune can be used for a broad range of applications. These include industrial cameras for tasks such as automated inspection, barcode scanning and microscopes as well as other, totally unrelated markets. In an interview Optotune co-founder Mark Blum said last year: “In the short term we see the biggest demand for our lenses in LED lamps”.

The focus tunable lenses of Optotune enable the combination of a wide flood light with a narrow spot in one fixture. Such LED lamps should find applications especially in museums, stores or buildings with special architectural features.

In an optical design for a tun­able LED lighting solution, it’s beneficial to use secondary optics to collimate the light from the LED before adjusting the beam with an adaptive lens. Carclo Optics supply such secondary optics with various surfaces, ideally com­plementing Optotune’s tunable lenses.
