Styleavenue.com is the first Swiss Luxury Second-Hand e-Shop. Since the official launch of the website two month ago the website generated a turnover of CHF 40’000. And the numbers are growing fast.

The aim of the Styleavenue.com team is to become “The online rendez-vous for luxury great deals”; a reference in the online luxury market. Users can buy and sell their luxury clothes and accessories online, with guaranteed product authentication. Members can sell or buy in a few clicks clothes, bags, shoes, watches and jewellery for women, men and kids. The state-of-art platform has been specially conceived for this niche market with curated design and integrates the latest e-commerce technologies with all required payment securities.

All products sold transit by the Styleavenue.com office in Geneva to be authenticated and packaged by a team of experts prior to be sent in order to insure product quality and that the final buyer make a great deal.

StyleAvenue.com also offers a Designer Outletwhere new items from most wanted designer brands are sold at unheard of prices. The start-up acquires those stocks form around the world through consignment contract or by purchasing them at a fraction of their original prices.

Incorporated in August 2012, the start-up operates since one year: 10 months in beta version and 2 months with its re-developed website. The online shop has already over 1’300 products from the top 100 luxury brands that are sold between -30% to -70% off the original retail price. The products prices range from CHF 100 to CHF 20’000+.

Since the new website launch and without significant budget, performances are excellent and growing fast reaching 20’000 visits per months with a CHF 40’000 turnover generated in the first 2 months. The communication effort is focussed on the Swiss market this year, but the company already register regular international sales.

Co-founders Annick Mokoi and Antoine Mathys are convinced that their shop will grow in the future too. “The second-hand market in Switzerland is estimated at a minimum CHF 60M annually. As a benchmark there are more than 20 brick-and-mortar second-hand shops in Geneva only. The future of this existing vibrant market is on the web. And new luxury items are selling also very well on the Internet with famous website like Venteprivée or Net-a-porter registering record sales every years over €1 billion for the first and €350million for the later”, they told startupticker.ch.

Mokoi and Mathys have started a first small financing round to finance further growth. A six-figure sum has already been committed, however additional investors are welcome. Additional rounds are planned for 2014.
