Swiss Game 'Train Fever' has reached its €250,000 funding target 11 days early. The game is developed by Urban Games, a start-up based in Schaffhausn

The Game “Train Fever” developed by the Swiss start-up Urban Games is a railroad-focused business simulation game with role-playing elements. The game will be published for the platforms PC, Mac and Linux. Urban Games estimates the target group to one million people. With an online sales strategy and a starting price of €25 the start-ups targets to meet at least 30,000 sales.

The plan and the game convinced more 600 investors. Thanks to them Urban Games generated EUR250.000 on the crowdfunding platform Gambitious. This is not only an extraordinary success for the young Swiss videogame industry. It’s also a first for the crowdfunding platform Gambitious: “We are proud that we have realized the first equity crowd funding raise for a game”, twittered the team.

In a blog post Basil Weber, project leader of Urban Games, pointed out: “After a long campaign, we not only secured funding but also gathered a lot of fantastic feedback, suggestions and challenging questions. In addition, we successfully started to establish a fan community around the world.”

Urban Games is a young, dynamic, highly motivated and talented team located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The company was officially founded in 2012.

Gambitious is the first professional crowdfunding platform exclusively dedicated to the games industry. The platform was launched in autumn 2012.
