On 22 April the event "Startup Champions" will be held at EPFL Rolex Learning Center, organized by venturelab and EPFL. The 20 finalists of the venture leaders program will present their company and Jurgi Camblong, CEO of Sophia Genetics, and Nicolas Abelé, CTO of Lemoptix, will share their experience and success stories.

For the 15th consecutive year, 20 of the most promising Swiss start-ups forming "the Swiss national start-up team" will travel to Boston and New York in June for 10 days of intensive business development. At the Startup Champions event representatives of the 20 young companies will pitch to the audience and the captain of the venture leaders team will be elected.

In addition two renowned guest speakers will share their experience: Nicolas Abelé, CTO of Lemoptix, a company recently acquired by Intel, and Jurgi Camblong, CEO of Sophia Genetics. In 2006, Nicolas Abelé himself was at Boston with the USA leading venture program. Sophia Genetics, a start-up which raised $ 14 million in July 2014, announced this week that its technology based on "data driven medicine" will be used in hospitals of Cologne and Düsseldorf.

The event starts at 2 pm and will be followed by the EPFL Seed Night. Free (but compulsory) registration on the venturelab page.
